about

Sandra Swanson

I was once told by a colleague I was the most ‘left-brain/right-brain’ person she had ever met. Most of us identify as left-brain or right-brain based on our skills and interests. Some of us are logical and analytical, relying more on the left side of our brain, and others are artistic and creative, tapping more into the right side.

My new venture is called The Curious Creative, reflecting my ability to tap into both sides of my brain. My analytical and inquisitive nature contributes to the curious side, and my artistic and design interests express the creative side.

After participating in the workforce for nearly 40 years in product development and co-owning a data analytics company, I am now focused on my writing career. I write personal stories about growing up in a family of nine children, as well as my grief journey since losing my husband and business partner in 2023. I also write women’s fiction, telling stories about women’s hardships and the resilience to overcome them.

Besides writing, I enjoy singing with The Harmony Project, nurturing cats as a volunteer at Columbus Humane, traveling domestically and internationally, spending time with friends and family, and sharing my Columbus, Ohio home with my sassy cat Cassie.
